After 1968 all the locomotives of the DR, class BR 62 had been united in Bw Frankfurt (Oder). The locomotives pulled trains on the route Frankfurt (Oder)-Erkner. At the beginning of the 1970's only the locomotives 62007, 62014 and 62015 still did their service on the route Berlin-Lichtenberg from their hub in Wriezen. The 62007 did its last scheduled service in 1972 and was later decommissioned; however it was still used as a heater locomotive until 1973. The only remaining 62015 is in the collection of DB-Verkhrsmuseum Nurnberg and is shown in the museum Eisenbahnmuseum Bw Dresden-Altstadt. Until the year 1997 it was in service and pulled special trains. |
