Prototype: In 1934 the Dutch army ordered twelve L-181 armored cars from Landsverk, forming the 1e Eskadron Pantserwagens. Designated the M.36 by the Dutch, these armored cars were equipped with a 37mm Bofors gun in the turret with a 7.92mm Lewis machine gun alongside, a Lewis gun in front to the right of the driver, and another mounted in the rear. The Dutch army had little interest in purchasing tanks, believing that their nation’s traditional defense tactics of flooding the landscape in front of an invading enemy would continue to suffice. Armored cars were sought after however due to their ability to rapidly deploy to trouble spots along a front and because they had a substantially lower price tag than capable tanks. In 1937 the Dutch ordered fourteen L-180 (called the M.38 by the Dutch) armored cars from Landsverk to form a second armored car squadron; two of the fourteen were equipped as command cars for the two squadrons.
PLEASE NOTE: These models are all handmade and painted which makes every one unique. This means the paint patterns may vary a little and the detail parts like sandbags, turret tracks, antennas, etc. may also be arranged differently. This was also the case in real life. These models are very prototypical.
